Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! I'm a second-grade teacher to students whose first language is Spanish. The students at our school live in high poverty. A lot of my students' families, at one point, immigrated from Mexico. Many of my student's parents work in the agriculture field and because of that they work long hours.
No matter what my students are going through at home, they are always positive and ready to learn.
Since there is such a high poverty rate, some families struggle to supply their children with basic school supplies. My students are dedicated to learning and are thankful for school supplies available in their classroom.
My Project
I'm hopeful we will come back stronger than ever from COVID-19. When we are able to be back in the classroom I want to have these items ready for students to use.
Each student will have their own book bin and notebooks.
The drawers will be at the ends of their tables and that will be shared with their table group. Having the drawers and book bins will help keep books and supplies in order. The clipboards will be used for students who don't necessarily want to sit at their desks. This has been a tough time and I want students to able to use new things in their class. All these items will be used by each and every student.
