My students need a more organized classroom. I want to offer them materials that will help all types of learners. These items need to be available for them to access independently and with ease.
I am the lucky teacher of 35 individuals from diverse backgrounds. My students speak many different languages, and come from all over the world. We all come together each day with the common goal of learning. My students are supportive of everyone, and see the value in the diversity of the class. These kids come from a high poverty community, and are doing their best to become positive, contributing parts of society. Every day is a new day when we come to school, and that's what they love the most.
The very exciting part about this school year is that I will get to have the same class for year two, and we will be adding another half of a class to our strong, loving, and persistent community!
My Project
The resources in this project are basic items that classrooms need, but mine lacks. Last year I struggled with organizing tools for students to access when they needed them for learning, so I am trying to get more shelving to create a more organized and efficient classroom.
With 35 fifth graders, and 35 different types of learners, it is important for them to gain independence and responsibility for their learning.
As their teacher I will give them the tools they need to be successful, I just need more storage space to make it more accessible for them. Manipulatives and other materials will be displayed on the shelves and clearly marked for students to find with ease, when they are learning.
