Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Pumpkins! Can we touch them?" Are some of the sayings I hear when I walk into my classroom. My students are full of curiosity of the world around them. My students are part of a low income school.
My students are learning to love learning.
100% of them receive free lunch. My classroom comes from a variety of states and countries. Some of my students have never set foot outside of a block radius of their houses. Many students receive English Language Learning services.
My Project
When students have an organized classroom, it gives them ownership of their environment and learning. Students learn better when they feel calm and collected in their classroom. With these items, we will have a place for everything in our classroom.
Students are going to be using these materials to organize the classroom.
The bins will be used to organized the new math materials the district has provided for us.
We were already gifted a projector and the students need a better way of viewing it. It will make it easier for the students to navigate the classroom without a table in the way.
A new easel will allow the students to play with magnetic letters and write in whole group. It will increase participation and engagement.
The caddy will be used at each table to keep students organized at their own tables. They will be able to keep pencils and crayons neat at their tables.
A timer helps students stay on task and know when it's time to transition to the next activity.
