Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember your kindergarten class? Kindergarten is a magical time. For many children, this is their first time in school. They come into the classroom with limitless potential. They are like little sponges who are learning how to manage themselves in a great big world.
Our 5-year-olds are eager to explore their world and get answers to their questions.
We are a collaborative classroom that incorporates learning centers for exploration. Through a team teaching approach, we provide accommodations to meet the social emotional and academic needs for the general education and special education students.
My Project
I am requesting one iPad for the classroom. Children today understand how to use an iPad, tablet, or phone. They love the instant gratification of learning games.
Having an iPad in the classroom will allow my students the opportunity to use apps and websites specifically created to help develop early literacy, writing, math, research and social skills.
Our school uses computer programs to help with beginning reading and math skills. Having an iPad in the classroom will give students the opportunity to access the program throughout the day rather than waiting for their weekly computer lab time.
An iPad would allow us to engage the students in a way that they recognize, and they can easily manipulate it.
