Help me give my students access to technology. I do not have computers in my classroom and my 30 kids need an iPad, iPad case, and speaker to learn and work on!
My students come to school everyday with a desire to learn, an element of excitement and a curiosity of what will happen in class that day. We spend time in class helping everyone feel included and prepared to learn. They are full of questions and ideas and the classroom is a safe place to explore them.
They are very active learners and need an environment that supports their learning.
I have a range of students academically and financially, but we all come together as one. I teach second grade and have students who just know their sounds, to students who are reading chapter books over two grade levels above. It is a challenge to keep all students engaged at one time. Through my experience, I learned that having engaging experiences and learning spaces will help children have a better chance to learn.
My Project
It would be so helpful to have an iPad in the classroom. By having an iPad I would be able to get more students on a "computer" using those 21st century skills we would expect our students to have. I would be able to have them read and listen stories, use word processing, research, use them for interventions, and even incentives! The nice thing about it as well, is that it is portable. For example, if I was on the carpet, I could have the students on the iPad right next to me. I am so excited to be able to use what I learned and be able to give my students what they need, but I first need to have the materials. This is where an iPad would be a great learning tool in the classroom
