Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are inquisitive enthusiastic learners. Each of them comes eager to learn many new things and has grown willing to take on greater academic risks and challenges. My classroom philosophy is focused on building a love for learning and discovery. The students work hard each day to flourish in their own learning while building life skills for their future. I wish to encourage my students by helping them to design and implement a personalized learning journey.
My goal is to provide them with resources for success and limitless opportunities to engage with reading, math, science, and computer science with the best technology and materials available.
My Project
I am asking for an iPad to use in my classroom to teach my students about financial literacy and other math skills. The students will use the technology to help them access to the extensive app library and tools for more student centered learning and reflection. There are so many amazing, engaging learning apps that are available using iPads; the potential for learning is limitless. In addition, students will be able to use the ipad to access our financial literacy learning activities at Earn Your Future. With an iPad, we can not only record our explanation for math problems, but we can screencast a drawing of our solution as we are explaining or model with virtual money. iPads will allow my students to document the projects that they are working on as well as allow them to use various different apps that apply to our areas of study. Students will be able to create reflection videos, multimedia projects, as well as work with coding and robotics and practical problem solving. It will showing our parents what we do in class to a whole new level. Most importantly, the students will use this technology to enhance their future readiness and prepare them for high school and college making them college and career ready.
