My students are from a low socioeconomic community. As a district, we put a focus on making learning exciting and fun! My biggest goal is to have my students value education and look forward to learning in their every day lives. Our school is lucky and has 1:1 devices for ALL students! This helps students learn 21st Century Skills with Technology!

My Project
My students already have the ability to sit around the room using flexible seating thanks to DonorsChoose.org. To take my classroom to the next step of providing a wonderful learning environment, I am asking for light covers and earbuds.
Classroom environments are an extremely important part of the learning process.
Helping students feel safe and comfortable as they are learning is one of my main goals. The light covers will help shield some of the harsh florescent lights that shine on students all day long. It provides a more calming atmosphere.
One of our mandatory school supplies this year was to have earbuds for every student. Due to my school being in a low socioeconomic area, a majority of my students do not have access to headphones or earbuds. By providing these to every student, they can feel more comfortable working on their iPads and learning at their own pace without everyone knowing what they are doing or distracting the rest of the class.
