This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a new chorus teacher at our middle school this year, I have had such a great time learning about my new students and what they love about music and singing! They are so eager to learn new music every day, and I truly enjoy sharing my love and passion for music with them.

In choral music, it is important for students to hear piano accompaniment that is full and always in tune.

An electronic piano looks, feels, and sounds like a traditional piano, but because it is electronic, it is always in tune! This is extremely helpful to the growing musicians that I teach and sing with every day! Each day, our lessons will include vocal warmups with the piano, as well as learning new pieces to sing at choral concerts and events. The end goal is to create beautiful music to perform for the school and community, and having an electronic piano to accompany my students' singing is an important part of student learning in the choral classroom.
