Boys, boys and boys! I have a fun and active group of second and third grade boy students. My students have learning disabilities and developmental delays. They learn best from hands on materials that are visually and kinesthetically stimulating. Some are very active and require materials that keep them interested. They love to participate! They enjoy when they get to "act like the teacher", when they present how to solve a problem. They all have unique personalities and strengths that make each day exciting! I enjoy getting to know them better each day!
An easel would give my students opportunities to share their ideas about topics on anchor chart paper that we can later hang in the room to remind the class about what was taught and what was learned. This would be very helpful for math, reading and writing activities. An example would be a math lesson about fractions that has the steps of how to solve a fraction problem, a sample of work and some practice from the students on the chart paper. The easel is reversible and could also be used for phonics, writing sight words and completing math problems. Thank you so much for your consideration!
