My Students
I have a class of 21 amazing first grade students. They are fun, caring and have so much energy! My students love to participate, achieve their goals, and learn new things each day.
My goal is to provide my students with the right tools and materials they need to be successful in the years to come.
We are a Title I school, as 76% of our students live at or below the poverty level. Every student in our school receives free breakfast and lunch and many of my students take food bags home on the weekends. Despite the hardships they face they still come to school each day with a smile, ready to learn!
My Project
I will use this easel for large and small group instruction, and students will use it independently during literacy and math stations. Modeling is key in first grade and this easel will help my students gain more engagement during instruction.
The easel can be used in any subject area!
We can read big books with this easel or we can write a story using chart paper. I can model counting with our magnetic ten frames or we can write on the white board. Students will be able to turn the easel around and use the felt board during their retelling station. The easel will be utilized throughout the entire school day.
Having an easel on wheels makes it easy for me to quickly move the easel if not all students can see what I am modeling. My students love to share their work and now they will easily be able to walk the easel around the room to do that!
Thank you so much for helping my first graders stay engaged in a meaning learning experience!
