Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are ROCK STARS!!! I teach maximum and minimum support special education inclusion as well as general education students. The MAJORITY of my kiddos do not have the resources available at home to prepare them for the world they will encounter, but they do not lack the desire or creativity they will need, they just need their ingenuity to meet up with some opportunities! I desire to tap into what they do have and join it with a missing link, be it technology, a different learning style, or functioning as a valuable and contributing member of a team. By doing this we will continually be adding "tools to their toolbox!"
My Project
My students need good quality headphones for many of the projects that we undertake in my classroom. These headphones connected to a Chromebook allow them to create podcasts over various topics to show their learning, connect with students across the United States or on the other side of the globe through Google hangouts or Skype as we study various ecosystems and climates, or collaborate with other Science classrooms on lab results or even research Scientists on questions they may have on a certain topic.
Knowledge is no longer limited to what is contained in a textbook or what I can teach my students in the limited amount of time I see them each day.
These headphones will allow me to teach them where to go to gain the knowledge they might need. My mission is to inspire them to be life-long learners!
