This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are growing up in a high-poverty area. Many students come into school without supplies, a clean uniform, or a positive spirit because of the wide variety of home situations. When we enter the classroom, students support one another, both academically and socially. My students are great leaders in the school, strong role models, and full of passion for learning.
My students inspire me to be the best I can be.
They have taught me that although things are tough, we have to work together as a community to create change!
They are my inspiration.
My Project
My students are curious. They have a strong desire to delve deeper. Together, we soak in information all day long.
As a 98 percent low-income based charter school, my students rely on the support of a village.
The books will expand the already text rich classroom we strive to maintain. The headphones will allow greater access to using our technology to the fullest.
With the requested materials, our classroom will become more successful in completing our STAR assessments, incorporate more guided read aloud through audio texts, and all real world connections to take place through current event discussions.
Help us grow and succeed. Become a part of our village!
