Our school is located in the inner city and is part of the districts magnet program. More than half of the students attending our school are socioeconomically disadvantaged. The students within our school come from many different cultural backgrounds.
My students are fourth graders.
They love to read and write and work hard every day to complete rigorous tasks to meet the challenge of high stakes state testing. They show true dedication to their tasks and amaze me daily.
We need these supplies to help my students to become even more successful in the classroom and in life!
My Project
The students in my classroom all work in different ways. Many of my students learn better in a small group setting. They need more direct teacher instruction to master the standards presented to them in fourth grade.
This table will make working in a small group more exciting and authentic.
The students will be able to communicate better with one another and I will be able to be able to monitor each student easily by sitting in the middle.
My students have time for differentiated instruction every day and this is when we work in our small groups. The students love this time of the day because they know they are working on what they need to master to be successful. I know the students would love working at this table with me and with one another.
