I have several classes of energetic, curious, and adventurous middle school students. They are always looking for something new and big to do and learn. Many of them come from difficult backgrounds with less than normal living experiences. For many, coming to school is a way of escaping their everyday world. They feel safe in my classroom, they trust me, and they know that I deeply care for them.
My students have a new appreciation toward learning music, and they are always looking for the next big opportunity!
Once we learn a skill or concept, we build on it and add the next challenge. A majority of my students are not exposed to a wide variety of music. Many would start the school year saying, “I don’t like music” or “I’m not good at this.” Those same kids leave my room at the end of the year and continue with music by either joining an ensemble for the next school year, taking private lessons, or playing an instrument at home.
We have been so lucky to receive such wonderful donations in the past year. My students and I are sincerely grateful. One of the greatest and most used gifts we received this year was a new drum set for our steel drum ensembles. We have six steel drum classes using this drum set every day, and they sound and look great. The next step is a great set of quality cases for transporting them to our away performances, and storage during the summer months.
Cases for our newest drum set will help them last for a long, long time.
Protection Racket Cases are some of best on the market today. Their products are durable, water resistant, and nest inside of each other for easy storage. They have soft material inside, strong zippers, and comfortable handles. These cases would be an added assurance to keep our investment going strong for years to come. Any support you can give us will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
