This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Reading is the subject I, as a teacher, am most passionate about. Unfortunately, my students don't always feel the same way. By the time my students reach even third grade, many of them have lost the love for reading already due to many circumstances, some beyond our control. It is my job not only to correct this and to pass on my love of reading, but also to provide my students with reading and writing skills they can use inside and outside of the classroom to be successful. Our kids learn by example and need to see positive role models who can show how impactful reading and writing can be in our lives. Having an author visit will allow students to see how fun reading can be, and reignite the love for it we hope to instill them with.

My Project

My students are in need of some reading and writing inspiration. Author Michael Anthony Steele may be the one to change that. His entertaining and interactive presentations will reach students of all grade-levels and help them to see that they too can excel in reading and writing.

With his motto of "I Can Do That," students will see they are capable of reading and writing at a high level too!

Having an author visit is an engaging way to get students more involved in and excited about reading and writing. Please consider donating to our students and cause!
