"It's Friday! Friday! Friday! Don't wanna work, I want to play!" This is a favorite chant of my fifth graders who visit at least three classrooms each Friday, singing and being praised for their hard work that they have completed that week.
The students' enthusiasm for celebrating their hard work permeates throughout the entire building.
They are positive role models for the younger grade levels in our school. I really strive to teach my students to be the positive role models I know they can be.
We also have a local National Guard Unit in our area and have a lot of military families with parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins serving in our beautiful country. Our staff also has the opportunity to focus on homeless students in our area by attending workshops and lectures to meet the needs of our students. We are dedicated to helping our students and their families in every way we can.
My Project
My fifth graders complete a variety of projects throughout the year to enhance their learning of a variety of concepts. State projects, history projects, science fair projects, and reading and math projects all engulf my students learning.
They love to complete projects, but don't always have the necessary supplies to get the job done.
They need the presentation boards to display their work on and the markers will enhance their creativity to make their display stand out. Having the small laminator and the laminating pouches to use will be a huge benefit to saving and preserving the students' work. They take pride in their hard work and to laminate pictures to add to their presentation will be beneficial to them. Currently my class is working on a colonial project where they have to research and learn about a person that lived during the American Revolution. Their projects will be masterpieces of art if they have these necessary supplies to help.
