Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach a class of twenty-one awesome first graders in a Title I community school located near Fort Bragg. All of the students in my school receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my parents are nurses, factory workers as well as active duty soldiers.

To help them overcome the challenges they currently face during this pandemic, I am eager to give my students meaningful resources to support their at home learning.

The Champs are working so hard to stay on track and continue learning through this difficult time. I am all the more determined that their academic progress will not be impeded during this global pandemic.

My Project

Now that we have officially moved to a distance learning model an Apple pen would help me connect to my students. In the rush to leave my classroom I was not able to bring a whiteboard home with me.

Having an Apple pen would allow me to write on my Ipad as a replacement for not having a whiteboard during our google meet lessons.

This pen would help make my students feel as if they were in the classroom with me. The Apple pen will allow for me to use our online learning time more efficiently as well as help me create digital lessons that can reach all my student’s needs. Please consider making a donation to this project.
