My students need an Apple IPad Pro 12.9 to support Learning Centers and reading practice.

Our school has a little more than 1/3 of our population eligible for free and reduced priced lunches. "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand," Confucius said, and hands-on manipulation is the same way that my first graders acquire concepts. My students are inquisitive, always excited and ready to engage in new activities and learning experiences, and thrive on almost anything hands-on.
Hands-on manipulation solidifies abstract learning into concrete learning!
Showing and sharing your learning is important in my classroom, and something we have done for years. I try to use and incorporate materials, resources, and activities that allow my students to "show what they know".
Technology in the classroom is becoming more and more predominant. Tablets are replacing textbooks, we can google just about anything on the computer, and social media has become common place. The way we use technology has completely transformed every aspect of our lives.
As Educators, we see the firsthand benefits of technology in the classroom.
Technology makes learning more interesting and fun! Students especially like using the iPad and the Smartboard since both are interactive. Using the iPad and Smartboard in conjunction with each other in the classroom, has the ability to reach all types of learning styles and interests.
We can utilize this iPad, along with my Smartboard, within my classroom. We can also pair this iPad with the Smartboard (that hopefully we’ll be getting soon) in the pod for the entire grade level: allowing for Guest Presentations, story re-enactments, teaching of STEM subjects that students might deem challenging or boring to become more interesting and engaging with virtual lessons, videos, apps, or other digital components.
