My Students

Kindergarten is a world of discovery. My kindergartners are discovering the power of reading, writing, and creative expression. My class is a diverse mix of students who enjoy working together and learning about the world they live in. Some students have years of pre-k experiences and some have never been in a school setting. And just as they all have different background experiences, they all learn differently, too!

I want to fill their kindergarten year with experiences that ignite their love of learning.

My Project

Apple iPads are a great extension to my classroom instruction. Kids have quick access to reading and math games, but that's not all! We can take our iPads in the hall and video great story reenactments or take them outside to take pictures at recess that will later become great writing pieces. We upload these pictures and other projects into our online learning portfolio app that documents our projects and celebrations for parents to view. We also research science and social studies topics with a primary research app.

Imagine my dismay when I came back to school this year only to realize that our school's refurbished iPads were now too old for updates and did not connect to our district wifi!

My class needs two, new iPads with durable cases to engage in these opportunities.
