Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As we venture into the world of digital learning, there are some successes and some road bumps! All in all our students are taking it in stride, I never thought I wouldn't be allowed to go grab what we needed from our classroom to teach from home! I am without my "good" technology and supplies as I never bring them home because I use them at school!
We are also starting to set up our clubs from home so I need to make some demos from home!
My students are accessing their lessons on phones, shared tablets, or whatever technology they have available to them, this is why I need to be clear and loud when creating my digital lessons. Some of them do not have a quiet place to work; they share bedrooms and some do not even have bedrooms as they are couch hopping as family members are working.
My Project
So since we are home I have realized that I really do not have the technology here to host zoom meetings, or create online lessons without constant shutting down and stalling. I generally create all my lessons at school where I have a real desktop computer. When I am home I really do not have an updated computer needed to run all the new programs we are now using.
A Macbook will not only allow me to help my students now but when we go back to school the technology of a Macbook will allow me to expose my students to some really incredible graphics programs to use in class.
