My students are communicators and collaborators. I teach 5th grade English language arts at a middle school. I currently have three classes ranging between 25-27 students per class. I have students who are in the gifted program as well as students who have receive additional support through the special education program. Each and every one of them have strengths and talents that make them so unique.
One of the things I notice most about them is their love for using technology.
My students love to be hands-on and love to do projects that require technology. When we use it, they LOVE it and constantly asked to use it again and again. I love their passion for it and I need help to provide them with everything they need to succeed. Having this Apple TV will help them. When my students walk into the classroom they will be full of life, ready to learn and excited for what's in store for them. These students are kind, loving and love to learn. I want them to know I believe in them and I want them to receive the best education by providing them with a 21st century classroom as best as possible.
My Project
Technology is key in the 21st century. Students need to be exposed to technology in the classroom. Technology can help enhance learning. This year, our classroom was given 8 new iPads. They are amazing and we are so grateful to have them. However, in order to use these iPads to the fullest, I am in need of a device called Apple TV.
Having this device in our classroom would allow for lessons to be displayed on the Promethean board by connecting to Airplay.
Using Airplay is a great feature to have when presenting, modeling, creating, or teaching everyday lessons. I want to be able to use them as a whole group and have the ability to display my iPad screen so that my students can see it and for my students to interact with each other in real time.
The Apple Pencil will also allow us some technological creativity in the access we have and help us use the Apple pencil will allow students to use their iPads more effectively, instead of just using their finger. With the use of an Apple pencil, the students will be allowed to draw, write and tap icons by pinpointing down to a single pixel on the touchscreen .
An Apple TV will make it possible for me to walk around my classroom, interact with my students, and gives me the ability to seamlessly transfer annotations from my teacher iPad to my Promethean board from any place in the classroom.
