The 66 culturally diverse students who make up the dynamics of my classroom are amazing, inquisitive 5th graders from a small town in Florida.
They are eager to learn and set high expectations for themselves.
They love learning and love to participate in engaging and interactive lessons in the classroom. We strive daily to build on our learning and develop a character that will allow us to become independent classroom citizens.
Students thrive on having opportunities in the classroom that they are not always presented with in their homes and the goal is to provide them with more opportunities to learn in a fun and creative way!
My Project
With standards changing, teachers across America are incorporating technology into their classroom. An Apple TV and Watch aren't just a fun toys, they offer thousands of educational apps and resources to help students be successful in school.
We want to incorporate the Apple TV and Apple Watch which will be a motivating and exciting way for students to extend their learning.
With the use of the Apple TV, students will be able to explore applications, tablet screens can be shared (class presentations, group projects), presentations can be shared from anywhere in the room, documents can be annotated with the students, students will have access to virtual field trips and educational videos, etc.
The Apple Watch will also be a tech tool used within the classroom setting. As the teacher, I will have easy access to the timer which will be used during group rotations. The watch will also be a great tool for our classroom music playlist. Music has become a big part of our rotations this year. Being able to set timers for the music to automatically come on at certain times will eliminate wasted class time. In addition, the watch will be used as a remote for power points through Keynote. The PowerPoint remote for Apple Watch provides forward and back buttons, elapsed presentation time, and the slide number.
