My Students

Students of the new Dramatic Arts Program at our school are thriving! Ranging from ages 12-15, they have a certain "je ne se quoi" charisma and exude colorful personalities. Our students have many irons in the fire as they prepare for high school and college, yet it is obvious that there is a distinct artistic bent to their demeanor and a desire to make theatre and cinema a home base.

Students of the new Dramatic Arts Program our school are a diverse, tenacious, full of life, communal, developing, and tech-savvy set of high energy teens!

Daily, you will find them busily researching, performing, filming and crewing productions.

The creative energy within Drama students is palpable and evident from the moment one enters the studio. Many are Broadway bound, and Hollywood hopeful!

Students of the new Dramatic Arts Program at our school enjoy each other's company, collaborate often, and have found a solid place to call home on campus, the Drama Studio. Students are emotional, probing, and curious as they take to the stage, and discover who they are and what they are made of. Stars, they are made from the stars!

My Project

Our Visual and Performing Arts students are in need of a new MacBook, and that is because we know that the person who communicates best in the most vivid manner will captivate the attention of even the least interested audience member. My theatrical and cinematic arts students are eager to pursue a deeper more enriched knowledge of these art forms. iMovie technology is the premiere tool utilized by my students and I would like to be able to support them by having the updated apps and programs necessary to produce and present their work.

My students are learning to communicate through an artistic and technological medium, and the MacBook will only make our job much easier.

Middle school students are often told that they are compulsive, impatient, and lacking motivation, yet it is my mission to ensure that all students have a chance to find joy in what they do in my class. The MacBook is a major component toward eradicating all of the above lackluster character traits. The Visual and Performing Arts program at our school is now devoted to captivating the imaginations and supporting all students to be successful. This also means that I as the teacher must communicate and prepare lessons from a state-of-the-art learning studio.

We have purchased lights, created a blackbox theatre from what was a bare classroom, and we have new stage microphones and sound equipment. The only thing is, it all must run from a central base and the MacBook is the best hardware that supports all of the theatrical and cinematic equipment we have. Also, many of my students are interested in the technical aspects of stage and cinema, and how perfect that would be to create a well-rounded program for all students to shine!
