Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from a high poverty area. Many of these students have experienced so much in their short lives that they are desensitized to many things that others find exciting, and have fallen behind many of their peers.

I work with 45 boys and girls in K-2.

Even though we are faced with many challenges we are determined to overcome. These children surprise me all the time. When others may count them (us) out, we always pull through. Our class motto is "If we believe it, we can achieve it." We do what we are supposed to do, not what we want to do.

My Project

The resources that we need are Apple iPads. These iPads will give my students , the apples of my eye, an opportunity to work independently on their skill deficit(s) in one on one and small group settings.

The students will use these Apple devices for reading and math intervention on a daily basis.

They will use these devices to complete their required iReady weekly minutes in reading and math. Funding this project will help students to reach their full potential. They will also complete state screenings, benchmark assessments, and progress monitoring on these devices.
