This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very special to me. My principal never fails to mention that we teachers need to serve our students the best that we can regardless of the zip code they are coming from. Our students may not come from the best family and home situations, and some may find the school as their only safe haven or their only field trip. I want to afford my students the best learning situations where their learning will not be limited due to lack of resources. I want them to want to go to school every day.

My Project

The gluesticks and tape along with the 5 tape dispensers are one of the basic needs in my classroom that have a direct impact in learning due to their importance in time and classroom management that directly affects learning in the classroom. At this time of the year, basic school supplies are dwindling down fast and helping my kids stay on task by preventing loss of time and materials is a valuable key in keeping the momentum of learning in the classroom. I need my students to focus on their learning and I want to provide them a classroom environment where learning is not suppressed due to lack of basic school necessities such as gluestick or tape which are what they need to maintain their math journals.
