Our school corporation is a rural district, trying to equip our students with the skills and experiences to be successful in our ever-changing world. I have the privilege to teach a multi-age kindergarten and first grade class. I love teaching literacy, problem solving, and thinking skills!
My kindergarteners and first graders are naturally curious and I want to help support them as they collaborate and learn creatively!
As their teacher, it is my goal to create opportunities to make them curious about the world around them. My goal is to empower them to ask questions and find answers. My students deserve it!
My Project
I am requesting microphones, a speaker system, a recording cube and handheld receivers to help students share and record their learning! We use an app called Seesaw to record and share videos, photos, and recordings with parents telling them about the things we learn. Only the parents of the child can see and hear what they record. It is a powerful parent engagement tool!
Students love sharing with their families and families love seeing and hearing from their children!
The microphones and speaker system will help students share during our in class time. Each week students get the opportunity to be super scientist. They select a project, complete it at home and then share the results with the class. The microphone and speaker system would help students share with the class. Listening and speaking are such important foundational skills!
The handheld receivers and soundproof cubes to help students quietly record on Seesaw so they can tell their parents about projects and read stories so their parents can hear.
