Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students at my elementary school are full of energy and a passion to learn. The students of my school are primarily African-American, Latino, or representatives of other minority groups. The school is in a Title I district and many of the students come from homes where they often go without. Many students also show great potential and interest in the arts.
As the music teacher, I have the opportunity to teach every student in the school and foster the possibility of a more fulfilled life through an understanding of the arts and how they affect our place in this world.
By providing my students with hands-on learning opportunities and a comfortable learning environment, I am able to give my students the ability to take ownership of their music-making and learning.
My Project
When our students perform music programs, it is quite difficult to hear them in our performance space. We do not have microphones that pick up singing voices and our current speaker is worn down and outdated.
Please consider helping to amplify our students' voices with microphones and an updated speaker.
Parents often complain that they cannot hear the students singing during programs and the microphone and speaker we currently have is unreliable.
We are needing Rode NT5 microphones to mic the students when singing and playing instruments. We need the SM58s for speaking parts and people speaking, in general. The PreSonus StudioLive AR12 is necessary to mute microphones when students aren't performing and to boost the quality of our performances. The JBL EON speakers and all of the other gear will be used for many events.
