Were you a quiet kid in school and your teacher made you work with others in a group, but your voice just was never heard? Have you been frustrated with technology because it just doesn't work?
My students are a group of fun and energetic sixth graders who weekly produce videos sharing what we have learned from the week prior in our curriculum study sync.
These videos are filmed on their Chromebook, and with masks it makes the audio of those videos poor at best. This program is rigorous and these scripts and videos that the students create really allow for students to learn how to work with others, communicate, and enunciate when speaking.
Even though we are a low income school, our students still participate in community service projects. This year we have collected box tops for our community based students, we have hosted a book drive and a can food drive. Our students are always giving back to others and it would be a treat to surprise them with new seats and supplies in class
My Project
The use of technology and a Chromebook is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in language arts. Using these microphones in our classroom will allow for more guided practice and amplifying the sound of all students.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their sound will is going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
