Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fourth grade scholars are an incredible group of bright, loving, kind, and hardworking children. They are a true team and do their best to achieve and encourage others to do the same.
Besides money, the largest hurdle that low-income students face is an overall lack of resources.
The impact of poverty on a child’s academic achievement is significant and starts early. Their success is an achievement for us and, even more importantly, for them.

My Project
My scholars love their already warm and inviting classroom. If I can create even more of a safe, homey space, I would be pleased as punch. For many of "my" babies, my classroom is their home away from home. There are so many things I want to provide for them, but I work with an extremely limited budget.
I am soft spoken naturally and struggle with projecting my voice so I really need a rechargeable mini voice amplifier with wired microphone headset.
That way students can hear me all over the room and don't miss any instruction. Ticonderoga pencils are high quality and don't break all the time so my students and I love them. I also need a good quality pencil sharpener. I already have 5 of the calming fluorescent light filters and they have made a huge difference with my students. They have asked if we can get enough to do all of our lights so we don't have the harsh fluorescent lights hurting our eyes. With these items, I'll be off to a great start with my 2018-2019 kiddos!
