My Students

My students are a lively bunch of kids eager to learn! They show up every single day with good attitudes and positive energy, and for a lot of them school is the best part of their day. They love to work in small group settings and are very hands-on learners. Any time that they are given the chance to be creative and engage in activities that allow them to build, construct, or use colors and crafts they are ecstatic!

I am a first year teacher working at a low income school which is an amazing experience because the children love coming to school and soak up every minute that they are here.

We are striving to create the best classroom community with resources that appeal to many different styles of learning and ability levels.

My Project

Each day during centers, the students engage in both reading and math programs. Currently we do not have headphones to use, so the students are trying to engage in their activities with added background noise from the other centers. Headphones will allow students to complete their work with less distractions!

By having headphones, students at the tablet centers will better engage in the content of their lesson, while students at the other centers can also focus better without the distraction of the sound coming from tablets.

Having headphones will also help reach students who are English language learners, as well as students with disabilities.
