We are a group of students that love to learn about the science, social studies and math all around us. We love to look around for how to make science and history come alive around us. We are looking for some real-world problems to investigate and make history come alive
We are a group of 44, 5th graders that are excited to learn and share our knowledge with others.
We are constantly working on better understanding the world around us, and learning about social studies through hands-on learning. We are always looking for better ways to incorporate math, social studies and STEM into our day!
My Project
This project consists of a variety of texts to help students learn about the history of the United States. Included in the project are a variety of books about the 13 Colonies and the American Revolution in both English and Spanish.
American history is one of the hardest subjects to teach to a student who does not speak English as the main language.
To help with this problem, this project will incorporate titles in both English and Spanish to help begin to deepen the understanding of the United States history in both languages. Through the use of guided reading groups, all students will be able to participate in the same novel study and begin to use technology to have a conversation about the text.
