Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are under the Autism umbrella. They have varying degrees of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
My students with Autism go from students who are non-verbal and show critical communication needs to students who are in need of extensive learning of social and daily life functioning skills.
They are eager to learn every day and become the best they can be with as many learning experiences I can possibly provide them. Every day it's a possibility to gain more and more skills to have a better future.
My Project
When student are provided a beautiful classroom with inspiring quotes and nice touches that are inviting and appealing they will feel loved and welcomed by the teacher. Also, there's a space needed for one to one instruction and a teacher chair is a luxury my schools can not provide.
I want to create a space the students in my school are not used to, a place where they can feel I love them and I want them to be comfortable, inspired, and ready to learn while the teacher can be comfortable as well.
I have seen how a beautiful and organized settings can positively affect my students’ and teachers work and attitudes.
They usually don’t expect to encounter a classroom that shows how much caring and high expectations one teacher can have for them.
