My students work hard daily to set and meet different educational goals, and I couldn’t be more proud of all their achievements. I would love the opportunity to be able to support them even more with their personal interests.
My students love to read and are looking for new and engaging books, but unfortunately they do not always have access to new books.
They rely heavily on my classroom library, which has very outdated books. I have close to 48 students in my classroom during Silent Reading and more books would highly benefit everyone.
My Project
My school offers a small media center that doubles as a testing center when needed. Subsequently, students are not always able to go to the media center and rely heavily on my classroom library during Silent Reading. Additionally, I have close to 48 students in my classroom during Silent Reading, which can cause issues based on the current books I do have.
This project would benefit them by allowing them to read more recent, high-interest books.
They are required to read a certain about of books in a month and this would help them reach their goals. I have chosen these books based on my students, their interests, and the frequency of requests I get for these specific series.
