Amazing Readers Need Books as They Learn Remotely From Home!
Help me give my students access to more books to continue feeding their passion for reading. During this time, I would like to read aloud new literature during remote learning sessions.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"We Empower Students Beyond Excellence" This is our school motto and a rule we live by every day. My students quickly learn that I am a little loony and that I like to sing, dance, and climb tables and chairs. I believe that standardized tests can sometimes weaken children's ability to transcend traditional ideas and common school practices. Our school serves a population of over 90% economically disadvantaged students. I also believe that students need to learn more by practicing concepts in many ways such as team activities, games, and direct and small group instruction with the right tools to help each of these amazing kids.
My Project
Our students need to prepare for the next grade and having new literature, informational text and biographies will enhance what they have learned and practiced throughout the year. Our students have acquired a love for biographies and new literature and I feel they should continue to discover and enjoy the adventures while they are still learning at home. It would be great for them to hear me read aloud to them these beautiful books while connected remotely.
As an educator, I have learned that a child who has a book to read can fall in love with a character, author or picture.
Once a child has found the love for reading he or she will always appreciate the company of a good book. Our students are great kids who just want to read and this project will give them that opportunity.
