As a new teacher, I have a small selection of books for my students to enjoy that will meet all of their interests. I hope to provide my students with endless good fit books that interest them right at their fingertips by introducing them to Kindle Fires.
My third grade students are from a very small town of only 800.
They are a very eager bunch of kids who love to learn and read with varied interests. Our school is a close-knit community where everyone helps and encourages everyone else. The third grade team, loves to combine classes and encourage teamwork among all students. We are very active in encouraging healthy habits, such as staying active.
My Project
As a newer teacher, I don't have the biggest book selection for my students. Although they have access to the library, I would love to be able to provide them with thousands of books right in the classroom! Kindles provide many features that support reading and comprehension. With these five Kindles with protective cases, all of my students will have access to books that are not only the perfect reading level for them, but books that they are interested in. Each child would be able to have a custom account giving them specific recommendations for more books they will love!
By providing Kindles to my students will help foster their love of reading and give them ample opportunities to grow as readers.
I strongly believe that providing them with this technology will advance my students as readers and help them make great gains over the course of the school year.
