My classroom consists of students of all different backgrounds. Some of my students are English language learners and come at various academic levels. They are all different but they have one thing in common, they are all eager to learn and become better academically. With these unforeseen circumstances, their learning was dramatically changed. My students need more visuals than ever now that they are learning from a distance and don't have the same tools they had in the classroom. Thankfully, the majority of my students have been able to get technology to continue their learning from home. Their enthusiasm for learning is still there, they just need additional support now that we are not together in one room.
Being able to give my students the resources needed to accomplish their goals is the best gift I could give them with your help. During the regular school year, my struggling students were showing progress and were slowly reaching their full potential. With this unexpected turn of events, some of those students began loosing what they had gained. During Zoom meetings, I noticed that some of my students were not responding to my phonics questions like they were back in the classroom. This made me think of posting this project where I would be able to provide actual manipulatives and visuals for my students.
With this project, I aim to get my students back on track and continue seeing them grow.
With the materials I am seeking, I will be able to continue supporting them by using those hands on materials. My students will be able to see how I can manipulate a letter or letters and form words, all through their computer screen. It would be fantastic if this project could be realized so my students can see how nothing can prevent them from reaching their full potentials.
