Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in an inner city, low income school. 100% of our students receive free and reduced-price lunches. Due to the major budget cuts that Oklahoma is experiencing, I am needing many things for my classroom to help my students thrive.

Sixteen of my twenty students are Hispanic and many of their parents speak little to no English.

The parents and families in our school want their children to learn and grow. In order to do that I need resources to adequately meet their needs.

My Project

These materials will give my students the chance to interact with a multitude of different art mediums so they can learn, grow, and create works of art that are as unique as they are. We will use these materials in our art center and for various art projects we do during the school year. My students love painting, drawing, and gluing. They will be able to use these materials to further their creativity on a daily basis. I can't wait to provide them with new paint brushes and rollers. Their faces light up when they get to discover new ways to use favorite art supplies like paint and glue.
