My Project

I am setting up a opportunity for my students to be able to utilize a wide variety of colorful paper projects. My students are all special needs with a variety of disabilities. Some are unable to fully enjoy certain art techniques. They respond by feel and touch.

Some of my students only respond well to actually cutting and placing objects.

They lack the manual dexterity to be able to paint of draw. By gluing and cutting they are able to fully express themselves artistically. Also utilizing different types of colored paper my students can better grasp traditional concepts and utilize them in their own artwork.

Becoming familiar with materials is fundamental in the fabrication of arts. It is important for students to feel comfortable with these materials.

Budget cuts have all but cut off school funding and our meager remaining funds have left us having to make due with alternate materials. While that is part and parcel with the arts it does make for a lack in truly learning the artistic process.

We are in need of a large variety of different color paper. With such a large student body we go through a lot of materials during the year.

The goal of this project is to help the students explore new colors in their artwork.
