I teach in a diverse dual language school in Omaha. My students come from all over the city to take part in the dual language program as well as in our international magnet studies.
My students are eager learners that enjoy school and strive to be successful in all they do.
Our class is a traditional 2nd grade class, as we do not participate in the dual language program. However, my students are fortunate enough to receive weekly Chinese instruction. They learn Mandarin Chinese, from our Chinese teacher, Ms. Zheng. This is a program they look forward to each week and they enjoy learning about other cultures.
We are the hardest working, most kind, smart, and motivated class and we would love to receive your support in our endeavors.
My Project
Number sense is the utmost important aspect of student understanding with math concepts. Rekenreks(counting boards) are amazing tools that help students kinesthetically see the relationship with numbers. Our class would utilize these wonderful counting tools to get a deeper understanding of addition and subtraction concepts.
Having valuable math tools is beneficial for this developmental stage in a child's life.
We are eager to expand our math knowledge and to become more fluent in our math fact abilities!
We will use the Rekenreks during math instruction time and during independent work time. Students will be able to physically manipulate their counting.
