My Students

My students are amazing and wonderful kids. They love everything from music to art, performing, coding, and playing video games.

We are part of a growing charter school that focuses on academics, social emotional learning, technology, and the arts.

Each student gets to choose electives that interest them all the way from art to orchestra, musical theater, and gardening. We incorporate coding and digital literacy.

We are beginning a comprehensive literature program that involves having a lot of different books from a lot of different genres and types of literature.

My Project

These books will give my class the variety and diverse literature we need to learn everything we can in our language arts program. We will be studying different features of each type of literature, narratives, informative, and informative- narratives, and these books will emphasize those areas.

Several of theses books will also provide for cross curricular study in Science through the books Volcanos and Storms, and in Social Studies through the Native American stories and stories of historic leaders like Martin Luther King Jr.

Students will be able to read them over and over and I will be able to read them to the students. Together we can explore the plot, characters, settings, and facts that are taught in the different books.
