it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Express yourself! Real acrylic paint on canvas? My students have only used tempera paint on card stock paper.
Our students attend a constructivist elementary charter school in Texas.
Constructivism is a teaching method where students construct their own understanding and knowledge of the world, through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences. We are a small school with only 140 students located close to downtown of a major city. We teach kindergarten through 5th grade and have been struggling without art supplies.
My Project
Our budget has been cut, and I have not received any art supplies this year. We have an annual Art Show at the end of May. So far, we have no art supplies for this. In the past, students painted on canvases with tempera paint. They have no idea what acrylic paint is like. Throughout the year, we have been using construction paper, tempera paint, markers and chalk.
It is hard to be creative when our supplies are limited.
This could be the best art show if we can have real paint and canvas panels. Our students are extremely creative and deserve a great event at the end of the year. Thank you for your help.
