Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Art is so awesome. Learning to draw is one of the first steps. Some students learn by the repetitive tracing of stencils, by copying another drawing, or by freehand sketching. No matter how you learn to draw, it takes lots of practice. This project will enable students to try different methods.
My students are new immigrants to our country.
They bring with them an excitement and awe of learning about their new home, as well as a wealth of memories of their countries. They are very impoverished and excited about creating their own stories in art. Art is a universal language where creativity and expression is understood by everyone. When my art students can create artwork to take home and share, it is the best!
My Project
I am requesting a wide selection of art games, art drawing books and art supplies. My students are very prolific artists and draw every free moment they can find. We never have enough drawing books for everyone to use when they finish their assignment. The art games will allow students to play together to learn about art concepts and artists as well. These supplies, games and books are adamant to my art students' understanding art is a way of life. We appreciate your support!
Learning to draw is the foundation for many other artistic endeavors.
Artists usually sketch before they begin a drawing, painting, sculpture, jewelry or ceramics. There are several methods to learn to draw, differing mainly in the types of tools used to gain proficiency. Learning to see and develop hand-eye coordination in important in many vocations. This ability can be honed in the early years in the art classroom. This project captures my students' interest in self-directed art.
