My students need alphabet letter sound sorting tubs, play dough letter formation mats, phonics games for building stronger phonemic awareness skills, magnet letters, and a magnetic easel for magnet letter word work activities.
Kindergarten is an age of wonder, discovery, and fun. My kindergarten students are full of life and love. They are a compassionate, caring, inclusive little community of children who love to learn, read, play, and help others. My students and I are lucky to be at the newest elementary school in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, with mountain views out of every window. Because the school is so new, I am still collecting all of the resources needed to build a truly engaging classroom.
My energetic kindergartners are hands-on learners, always on the go, ready to learn and try new things!
They love to learn by doing. I am constantly on the lookout for new, hands-on learning opportunities to keep my enthusiastic little learners engaged.
My Project
Kindergarten students enter school with vastly different backgrounds and abilities, especially when it comes to phonemic awareness skills. My little ones are expected to be reading by the end of kindergarten, but many start knowing very few letter names and sounds. I am constantly seeking developmentally appropriate ways to help my little ones learn their letter names and sounds in order to star their reading journey.
My students need alphabet letter sound sorting tubs, play dough letter formation mats, phonics games for building stronger phonemic awareness skills, magnet letters, and a magnetic easel for magnet letter word work activities.
These hands on resources will help all of my students find reading success through learning the alphabet in exciting new ways. The letter sound sorting tubs will help my students associate letter names and sounds with objects that they can physically manipulate rather than just looking at pictures on worksheets. The magnets and easel will make a wonderful word-work station for letter identification and eventually building words. The games and play-dough mats will help with both phonemic awareness skills and correct letter formation.
Thanks for helping make it fun for my students to learn the alphabet!
