This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
A typical day in my classroom runs like the Polar Express. There are surprises, magic, and trust all rolling along on an unpredictable track. My students believe in their own magic for learning new things. It's the little things that make all the difference in a classroom.
My students live in a high-poverty neighborhood with more challenges than anyone could ever know.
The students come from all different backgrounds, but most come from homes where there are economic struggles. These young children are faced with problems that are even too overwhelming for most adults to handle. They desperately want to learn and need the tools to do so.
My Project
Please help me give my students snacks, paint sets, hats, gloves, dolls, remote control motorcycle, slime kits, legos, and game boards. All the items on the list were personally chosen by each student in my classroom.
My students need ways to practice social skills through games and toys.
What better way to practice getting along and working cooperatively than through fun games and toys?
The snacks that we are requesting will ensure students will be successful in the classroom. My students will be able to grab a snack when they are hungry!
