My Students

My classroom has 30 fifth grade students. In fifth grade we foster independence and look for the special talent in each student. We consider our classroom a family. Many of my students have been together since preschool and will continue through high school.

My students enjoy learning and being introduced to new experiences.

I look forward to spending the day with my energetic and lively class. Each day in a new adventure in room 11 thanks to my fifth graders.

My Project

Alternative seating, such as wobble stools, allows students to move while working. Many students need to move and wiggle. Allowing choices has and will continue to positively benefit all students especially those with ADD/ADHD or those who just have a difficult time staying still.

Making students more comfortable in the classroom increases engagement in learning while decreasing distractions and interuptions.

Our school has put an emphisis on 21st century learning and I believe more alternative seating choices would add to that experience.

I look forward to positively changing seating choices to my classroom and provinding more comfort to my fifth grade students.
