Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have been incredibly happy and excited to be in their kindergarten class. It is a big step into their elementary education! We have a wonderful and happy multicultural community and I would love to provide our students with early education, specialized, classroom supplies within all areas of need. Our city and district is considered large for the area and I have the privilege of working at a beautiful school site which is filled with amazing students, teachers and staff.
My Project
As a Kindergarten teacher, I love to provide alternative seating that is safe, fun and practical. I know from experience alternative seating allows the wiggly jiggly students an opportunity to enjoy their learning experience. While also learning, the students are being challenged physically along with the lessons. By offering them these alternatives, they can become more comfortable.
The expectation for perfectly seated children is no longer a focus or expectation, and I believe that as a teacher, I should offer as many alternatives as possible.
