My students need alternative seating to help them focus and become more motivated in the classroom. Students learn at different rates and this will give them the option to take charge of their learning.
As a teacher in a low income/high needs district, many of our students rely on the teachers for supplies and support. Part of the supplies in the classroom is seating arrangements. My students show analytical skills to help them understand life skills by making proper choices. Not only do I believe in them but they have shown how given the chance, they will succeed. We are a school of 3,500 students to want to succeed in their own way.
My Project
My students need some different spaces to learn. The opportunity to have alternative seating will help them grow and succeed with life choices. Students will focus on what educational needs are necessary. Students will use the table and chairs as a gateway to their different learning abilities. Students will feel comfortable in spaces that are their own whereas traditional seating offers students to be comfortable while working. The fact that students are taking the initiative to find different places and areas to work indicates that traditional seating does not work for them. Each of the items will benefit the students in their own ways.
