This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Alternative seating options are a wonderful resource for my students with special needs! Flexible seating provides students the option of choosing a seat that will help them stay alert during class. The two reinforced yoga ball chairs I have selected allow students to bounce, swivel, and move all while learning! This motion improves core strength, corrects posture, helps students focus, and increases oxygen flow, as well as blood flow to the brain.

Having alternative seating available makes a huge difference in allowing my students with ADHD and ASD to comfortably focus while they learn!

My classroom already has a few alterative seating options that the students love. Unfortunately there are not enough of them for everyone to use. One of my awesome students suggested we fundraise for these exact chairs so there will be more options! Traditional desks are simply not the right fit for every student. These alternative seats will be a fantastic resource for my students and a great addition to our inclusive classroom!
