Marzano Academy is a STEM+Coding Public School which is providing Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Coding opportunities for our students. We will be a Title I school next year with a high percentage of English as a Second Language (ESL) students.
Many students chose our academy to have different opportunities to learn and grow that they cannot find in a traditional education settings.
We rotate classrooms like middle school students and students are ability grouped to provide education at their instructional level.
My Project
A positive and cozy classroom environment helps children feel comfortable while they are engaging in learning. Every year, I strive to make my students feel motivated and excited about learning by providing a peaceful and enticing environment. For the reading nook this year, I would like the students to have bean bags they can snuggle into as they read. These bean bags will allow them to sit or lay on their side as they read and will give them more flexibility in seating them in traditional classroom chairs.
Children now are coming into many schools with the idea that learning is boring.
They are placed in daycares from the time they are young and often parents call them "school." This makes children not as excited to enter school as they once were. Having multiple seating options, and making the classroom inviting, will help motivate students to want to come to school ready to learn each and every day!
