Kindergarten is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. My students are learning to read, write, count, and explore the world around them. They love to play outside, learn new games, and dance to music.
Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
Alternative seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Alternative seating can promote core strength, balance, coordination and posture. Students who have the opportunity to choose alternative seating will allow their bodies (and minds) to be awake and ready to learn!
And the benefits don't end there!
Allowing kids some control over where they sit turns them into problem solvers! Kids are not meant to sit still all day long!
The students will have the chance to sit on these ottoman cubes during guided reading time but will also be able to choose to sit on one during other parts of the day!
